This thinning shear is a 46 tooth shear but is a very aggressive dog grooming shear. The spacing of the teeth is very different from the “Detailer “and “Shaper”. This shear will remove a lot of pet coat very quickly.  It has very deep notches at the top of each tooth which is what makes this shear aggressive. It is a wonderful grooming shear for trimming ears and tails for a natural look as well as trimming furnishings on setters, spaniels and retriever-like breeds. It will, however, blend soft coats very nicely.  If you have trouble getting a nice finish on your poodle-type coats due to rough scissoring skills, this shear can be used to “scissor” over your work to erase all scissor marks.
